Curb rash, scratches, and most surface gouges can be fully repaired without replacing the wheel. The damaged area is sanded and reshaped to match the original contour, color-matched to the factory finish, and sealed with a cured clear coat. The result looks factory and lasts as long as the original finish on the rest of the wheel.

How long does a single cosmetic wheel repair take?

Accepted Answer

A single-wheel cosmetic repair takes 24 to 48 hours for drop-off service, because the paint and clear coat need to cure properly. Rushing the cure leads to peeling, so we do not cut that step short. Multi-wheel jobs are scheduled in advance. Local drop-off and mail-in shipping are both available for customers across Northern and Central Virginia.

How much does cosmetic wheel repair cost?

Accepted Answer

Cosmetic repair $200 adds deep cleaning and rebalancing, useful for wheels with heavy brake dust buildup or wheels that have already been off the car. Wheels 22 inches and larger have a $25 up-charge. Satin clear coat is an additional $25 per wheel because it requires double the clear material.

Will the color match my other wheels exactly?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We color-match the original finish on your wheel set, including silver, gunmetal, hyper silver, black, machined, and most factory paint codes. Color matching is done in-shop by sample, not from a generic chart. When the repair is one wheel of a matched set, the finished wheel blends in with no visible difference under normal lighting.

Will the repair survive brake dust, car washes, and Virginia winters?

Accepted Answer

Yes, when properly cured. The clear coat we apply is the same class used on factory finishes and is rated for heat from braking, road salt, and frequent washing. It will not lift or peel under normal driving conditions. Subsequent curb rash or rock chips count as new damage and are not covered by the workmanship warranty.
